Code Monkey
Code Monkey: (Wikipedia)
- A person only capable of grinding out code, but unable to perform the higher-primate tasks of software architecture, analysis, and design. Mildly insulting. Often applied to the most junior people on a programming team.
- Anyone who writes code for a living; a programmer.
- A self-deprecating way of denying responsibility for a management decision, or of complaining about having to live with such decisions. As in “Don’t ask me why we need to write a compiler in COBOL, I’m just a code monkey.”
Code Monkey란 대략 “단순히 코딩만 할 수 있는 프로그래머"라는 좀 프로그래머를 비하하는 은어. Code Monkey라는 노래를 (링크된 글의 본문 바로 아래에 MP3 파일이 링크되어 있음) 소개한다. 아래는 가사인데 아마 한번이라도 프로그래머로 일해본 사람, 특히 젊은 남자라면 노래 들으면서 가사 읽으면 (리스닝이 되면 읽을 필요 없겠지만^^) 가슴이 뭉클할 듯.
